SoftServe to Develop on the Moon Construction Technologies with NASA Funding
The Ukrainian IT company SoftServe announced its participation in the international consortium for the development of technological solutions for construction on the moon in the NASA program. The company announced this in an official press release.
*In December 2023*, a member of the consortium of companies **SoftServe**, led by the American company Astroport Space Technologies, received a grant of 1.3 million $ as part of the **NASA STTR 2023 Phase II project**.
**SoftServe's** goal is to focus on developing technologies to build launch and landing sites in extreme conditions and ensure safe landings on the Moon.
The project, which is scheduled to start *in January 2024*, will use the expertise of **SoftServe's Robotics & Advanced Automation** department, which will be aimed at modeling robotic systems for construction, mechanical interaction and free movement on the lunar surface.
*"Within the scope of this project, we will be creating models for the terra-mechanical interaction between equipment, construction machinery, and lunar soil, or regolith. Our work will involve generating a large number of digital simulations of the lunar construction process, taking into account the unique characteristics and properties of the soil, as well as various scenarios,"* says Lyubomyr Demkiv, the head of SoftServe's Robotics department.
